This may be an issue with my other fly submissions as well. In which case if they are I can make it so they can only die by touching them instead of by shooting them if that makes them better.

Is it technically possible to make them killable by melee attacks too somehow? I think it's appropriate for them to be swattable, so to speak. But I don't know if that can be done without also making them shootable.

I don't think so. I tried a few things and nothing seemed to work. I tried making their height and width 0, making them not solid, and making it so that it wasn't shootable, and a few combinations of said changes, but it appears that in order to do any real damage to it, melee or otherwise, it needs to be shootable. Which unfortunately means they will make the rockets go boom.
To get around this I gave the flies on the Fly King and Mad Fly King the Touchy flag, which will just kill them the instant the player touches them for balancing purposes. Buuuuut for a 'prop' fly I feel that would defeat the purpose of even having them around since the player would just kill them before they could see them flying around a corpse or garbage or whatever the level designer wanted to have flies hovering around. Then again I didn't want them to not be killable at the same time. But for these I could make the acceptation to that since they are so small and not really in the players way since they can pass right through them. Would that be better?
