Daedabus

Hey, I remember Daedabus was on here, but he suddenly went one day, what actually happened to him?

It was taken down by request from the author of the monster.

Is anyone still allowed to use and distribute files that were removed from the repository?

Since that is the whole purpose of the repository, and the author didn't want it up, I would assume no.

Well, I used the Deadabus in "The Refinery" ... I guess you could rip it out from there... even though that's not recomended

Hate to Arch-Vile a long-deceased thread, but I just noticed that this banner image on the Repository section still shows the Daedabus, even though it's been pulled from the repo:



Should the image be changed to replace it with something else?

I have the Daedabus in my hdd. Can I do something?

If the author asked for it to be removed, then that's probably not a good idea. According to the Credits lump, it was submitted by Ghastly; if he wasn't the one who asked for it to be removed, then he'd probably be able to tell you which of the other contributors did (probably Aerial since he did the DECORATE and was a sprite editor). Maybe you could ask directly and see if they give you special permission to use it...?

Just to be on the safe side
There is a wad that was posted here a year or 2 ago called hard doom and they have a red Daedabus called the HDHectebus.
Would that one be ok to uses?
