It seems to outclass the chaingun in terms of damage over time, but I think it's pretty common knowledge that the chaingun isn't a "true" representation of what a Gatling-type gun's actual performance would be. So that's not unexpected. Does it have any obvious drawbacks compared to the chaingun, besides ammo conservation?
The sprite edit is nice. I think the rear of the gun needs to cast a bit more of a shadow on the hands, but I think that's my only complaint. I might like this better than the Blood Thompson SMG.

The Thompson isn't meant to be used in classic DooM-style gameplay, specifically it's more for WWII and Vietnam War Era, and in theory mods that would use either of those themes, as well as reloading, would be best for the Thompson (of course due to the hands, no reloading (or even reload sprites being not provided either) and being centred, it's a "Doom-styled" weapon, although by your understanding, it's only "balance" would be it's rather mediocre range/spread (the Thompson performing well upto 256-512 units away roughly, not in radius either) would be it's only real performance issue (Contrast to the Chaingun which is a sort of Machine Gun-AN94 combo [Referring to the AN94's two burst mechanic; which the Chaingun shares with it's burst taps] contrast to the Thompson which fires in single taps.
Spriting could be improved around the right hand, but the in-game HUD view doesn't really show too much of the hand to be noticeable (even in the sprites themselves, it's more of a "if you focus, find it, and are aware of it" thing, so it's not really an issue.
It's pretty much up for submission.

The HUD sprites seem to have excess space. It should be removed, since even though it's empty, it's still part of the sprites, and it needlessly takes up resources RAM/VRAM and all that.

That is the only thing keeping this from being approved. Any updates?Blue Shadow wrote: The HUD sprites seem to have excess space. It should be removed, since even though it's empty, it's still part of the sprites, and it needlessly takes up resources RAM/VRAM and all that.
