Also I feel the Cycloid Emperor sprite is fine; just tweak the design slightly between variants so they're not all pallet swaps. They feel like they fit in to doom without too much hitch

If you still want to continue improving this monster to, say, a personal project, or to share it on the ZDoom forums, at least I can give you a few recomendations:
- The Abolisher Grenade can be completely harmless due to lack of range, needs to have Bounce properties.
- Also get rid of the ExplosionDamage, ExplosionRadius and DontHurtShooter properties, define them within A_Explode, and also make the radius blast bigger, 18 is pathetic.
- The laser attack should be reduced, remember that the formula to inflict damage is "random(1, * damage" which means there can be a small percentage of the projectile dealing 80 damage.
- The BFG attack suffers from the same problems, damage too high, blast radius too low.
Note that I do actually like this monster, it's just nothing special compared to the other Cycloids in the beastiary.
