My only real complaint is that I feel it should make a sound when attacking, like a monstrous... "growl" or whatever, if you know what I mean.

There's something I noticed about how the submission is packaged. The "WAD" is actually a zip file, yet it has the .wad extension. Why is that?

thats a simple mistake on my end! packaged the wrong file!

*edit*
the new attached file includes an amended version which should be in a proper wad (with some fixes to the 3/7 walking frames that had some stray arm pixels and the head position has been tweaked to fit in with doom's more 'hunched' zombies more)... also I've made another variant so have packaged both wads of each zombie variant into a joint zip pack.

a fitting companion for scalliano's scientists, these are inspired by the doom movie and of course doom3

It's best to keep the the opening post updated with the latest information and version of the submission. it's inconvenient to have to go through various posts just to find the latest version.

In my opinion this enemy is great, I'm using it in a map that resembles a water treatment plant. It's a perfect fit, so thank you for making this :)

Unless there's something wrong with the code or sprites (which I doubt is the case), I guess it will be accepted eventually, but the guys who make the decisions appear to be not that active recently, or are occupied with other stuff. So just be patient until they find the time to properly review your submission.

thanks DeVloek, glad you've found use for them! I've been using them on a randomizer alongside scalliano's scientists in major crisis and I'm quite pleased with them in the end.

as for the submission and all that. I'm not entirely bothered as/when/if it goes on at all, to be honest but as i'd seen other stuff come and go in the meanwhile, I figured something must be wrong with the wad or something. I am using an older version of gzdoom as my machine won't actually run the latest so I wasn't sure it was compatible or whatever. glad to hear it is working ok for you though!

  • The sound you added due to my suggestion above doesn't really fit well I find, especially when you compare it with the other sounds the monster makes. Could you try and find something better?
  • The wrench zombie doesn't need to also have that sound, since it at least makes a sound if it misses its target.
  • Since they're a package, I'd prefer if all the monsters were at least put in the same ZIP file, if not in the same WAD.
