[submission] Legionary converted to D'Sparil was created by Lagi
Name: Converted to D'Sparil Legionary [make sense if you read Heretic lore]
Difficulty: Easy
Connections: None
Summon: Warrior
Melee: yes
Distance: no
Type: human
Brightmaps: no
Actor modification: no
ACS: no
Code: Lagi
Sounds: BouncyTEM - Hollywood Edge Historical Series SFX Library
Sprites: Bungie (Myth: the fallen lords).
Sprites edit: Tyr, Lagi
Idea Base: Heretic was always lacking for me, without a normal human knight with sword and shield. I always want to have guy looking like a Warrior from Myth the fallen lords. So I just add one, i edit his legs so he looks less isometric.
Description:
Covering with his shield, and self-healing. But he is not immortal like Centaur, if you move behind him you can shoot him down normally. He has 50hp.

Did Myth had a top view? Because some sprites looks weird from a FPS perspective. Other than that, I like the design, but I don't think it would fit any of the Raven games, so it would go to the Other Sources category.

Myth has a little top view - isometric. I touch up sprites, mostly the legs, so the monster looks less Isometric.
After a critical look, I admit that mostly when you see him turning around the illusion of 2nd perspective is failing, because his limbs are higher and lower, f.ex. the shield is slightly higher when he is showing his back.
I make this dude specifically for Raven game - Heretic. Please put him in Heretic/Hexen bestiary.

Sorry, but the sprite style doesn't really fit the Raven games, as Gothic already pointed out.Lagi wrote: I make this dude specifically for Raven game - Heretic. Please put him in Heretic/Hexen bestiary.
Some feedback:
- The damage it does can be very high; it can, if you're unlucky, nearly take half your health with one sword strike (if you don't have armor equipped).
- In the Cheer state sequence, why A_AlertMonsters and A_ResetHealth are called repeatedly through out?
- There's a DECORATE script error in line 302: "NODELAY may only be used immediately after Spawn:".
- The warriorMixer actor replaces an existing actor (the Mummy, in this case), which is something you shouldn't do. You can keep the spawner if you want, but don't let it replace an existing actor.
- The vocal sounds of the monster, to me, seem to be a little too quiet.
- What's the official name of the monster? Is it "Warrior" or "Converted Legionnaire"?

thanks, no worries, maybe i will make another one in 20 years
so what would have to change, to make him fit?
i would need to adjust the arms position [make him more 2nd perspective]? reduce the photorealism of the colors?
update link to mediafire with below:
-dmg: you are right he supposes to deal random(3,*2 ], but i forgot Norandom flag. NoRandom flag added.
- alert and health : it could be called only once, guess its less line of code. Is there any particular problem with that? reset health is only call once at the end.
-nodelay ok. removed
- the point of the spawner is to easily test the new monster. code deactivated with comment /*.
- sounds... hmm.... he was too loud to me before, thats why i reduce the volume in audacity . I think the sounds are ok, otherwise he would be too loud.
- warrior is too common name to identify a monster. For the purpose of publishing him in Realm667 - Converted Legionnaire. I change the Obituary "%o was slain by a Converted Legionnaire."
