Idea Base: Original Scattergun from the game Angst Rahz Revenge


Description:

The original Scattergun from the infamous game called Angst: Rahz's Revenge.
the original weapon was very bad, with only two animation frames, no reloading and no proper power.
so i decided to bring it to DOOM and make a simple overhaul of it.

reload animation have been added, as well as a better shooting one,
in terms of power, the weapon itself behaves a lot like the SSG from DOOM with basically the same damage and the same reload speed,

Could you include preview sprites with your submission, so people can see what it looks like before they download it? This is a requirement of the proper submission format .

Anyways, I took this for a spin, and overall I don't find it terribly impressive. It's not "bad", mind you, but the sprite work isn't especially strong, and considering how many double-barrel shotguns we already have, this kind of needs to be "impressive" in order to stand out. It's fun and functional, but it doesn't really provide anything new.

Also, submission rules request the submission be compiled in a .zip format; this one's in a RAR. I do know that utilities to open a RAR are common, but it's best to submit in .zip format, since not only can Windows open .zip files natively, but ZDoom can read these natively too.

the sprites weren't in Doom palette, i converted the pngs into doom palette, but yeah the sprites had already a lot of dithering.
i will adjust the sprite things in the post and rar thing but, yeah i understand you about the fact that it's a bit of a redundant weapon

This heavily clashes with any kind of sprite style that's already there - skin color, metal color, general style.

I'm going to have to say "no thanks" to this one. It's not a bad effort, and I appreciate being exposed to some new art from more obscure games, but the art itself isn't particularly good and the functionality is redundant. If there's any other weapons from that game that might be worth sharing, feel free to post them, and we'll happily take a look.
