I have some Complaints about this weapons here.

The Sprites are DeSynced
The Fires behave Incorrectly
And the Weapon Pickup doesn't use Scale to make it Smaller.

This would get a no from me if i were deciding unless the sprites were improved and the Errors are fixed.

Can you elaborate on the first and second complaint? I don't understand what you mean by desynced sprites and I can't find any error with the fires.

Sprite-wise, I'd have to say the same general things about this as the Burst Rifle; too few colors, too much dithering. Looks like it's using the same palette as the rifle, in fact. Also, frames A and B are identical, down to the byte count; you don't need both. The Arch-Vile flame really doesn't work as a projectile...if you're trying to re-use existing Doom II assets, maybe you can use a translation or recolor of the Baron or Mancubus fireball.

Functionality-wise, it's OK. I don't have any real suggestions for balance off-hand. It's a lot weaker (on average) than a rocket, but it has the benefit of the ripper effect.

I have to agree with MagicWazard about the projectile being used here, the flame doesn't entirely make sense. I'm not sure why it makes an explosion sound effect either as it doesn't look like anything's exploding. My other major complaint is regarding the sprites. It seems more evident here that actual photos were used as a base for them (at least, that's what it looks like to me) and as a result doesn't match Doom's style.

Behavior-wise, it could work as a weapon, but I feel this will need an overhaul on the sprites

I updated the projectile so it is no longer a flame and I overhauled the sprites so they better contrast. I did use real images so perhaps they would work better in the other style section as I'm not sure how to make a completely doom styled weapon (hands, fire effects, etc.).

I agree with everything that's been said. Personally, I don't find the weapon exciting to use; it's just lacking.

Does it belong to the Other style? I'm afraid I'd have to say no.
