Looks a lot better... saves a lot of space in the file too & black blood definitely makes it better. A nice twist from the PS1 version.

I'll submit it like that, but only if it's ok with you... don't want to be seen as "stealing ideas"... You'll get full credit for the visual changes-- credit where credit's due.

Let me know what you think.

You're totally welcome to borrow anything from this version you want. And I don't even feel like I need to be credited for any visual changes; I didn't do any editing to speak of apart from applying the blending mode. :) As far as I'm concerned, pretty much all the assets credits would go to id (for the original Demon sprites) and Midway (for the sounds). Of course, if you make any behavioral changes to DECORATE, be sure to credit yourself. :) (Note that as far as behavior goes, my version only boosts the health, and not any other properties like speed or damage, which I believe your original version did.)

That's very generous of you, thank you. I'm still going to give you some credit, Blood Changes look better now it's Black-- blood colours was something I did think about, but that was very early on, way before even thinking about online submissions and so, I quickly forgot about it :(.

My version does have slight health (like it's meant to) & a maximum damage increase (8 x 1 to 5, instead of 4 x 1 to 10, so it would do between 8-40, but looking at it now, I might reduce that a bit as the rare chance of dealing 40% is a bit too high), just to toughen him up a bit more, nothing overpowering, will still go down after 2-3 shots with a Rocket Launcher or Super-Shotgun at close range, but a copy-cat Demon & Spectre Damage just didn't feel right and the extra damage adds a "fear factor", plus these guys killed me more then the other two did when I had the PS1 version, used to HATE fighting them lol :)

Mathematics wrong there, it increased the minimum damage, so it would deal 8-40% instead of the Doom's default 4-40%. So, I'll leave that as it stands.

Happy to announce, this is now finished. I've managed to add it's custom Melee attack to the new update with no problems & it is working better than I had intended. Thank you to everyone who has tested the older versions & to everyone who has given me feedback. :)

Oh, and I have to mention that when I posted my version, I was a little lazy, and 3 of the 4 sounds were still in Doom format; only one was in .OGG. So I converted the remaining sounds to .OGG; it saves close to 20kB or so in the .zip file. So if you go back to my prior link, you'll see all 4 sounds are now in .OGG; I suggest you use those. (Submission rules prefer compressed formats like FLAC or OGG, but it's one of those "soft" rules which isn't always enforced. I'm probably going to be a bit more picky about it moving forward.) If you don't already have Audacity, I suggest you download it; it can easily convert from .WAV to .OGG, and can covert multiple files at once.

Warning: Spoiler!

Oh, and there's no need to triple-post, even on your own thread. Don't forget there's an "Edit" function if you want to add more to your prior post. :)

... Right ... so you want to convert the sound files to OGG now? I do have Audacity-- won't take long,,,

Guessing I should do the same with my other files? Will update the descriptions on each file, when the sound conversions for the are done for them...

File size for just dropped 70kb- now 40.6kb (uncompressed) overall :)

What I was trying to say was that I already did in my previous link, and that you could just use those, but if you have Audacity yourself, all the better...

If you're up to it, that would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, the "OGG or FLAC" rule is kind of a "soft" rule that is periodically ignored, but it's one that we are at liberty to point out, and it's just good practice to get used to. :)

Done. All sounds are OGG, not a problem-- good idea. It's saved a lot of space on Duke Nukem & the Allied Marines-- both use a lot of sounds (especially the Marines). :)

Hopefully this new change will boost the appeal...

I'm personally happy with it now. One minor thing of note: it includes the Doom 64 "active" sound, but uses the regular Demon's "active" sound. You might want to make a note in DECORATE that the alternate "active" sound is included, but unused; or, you could assign it, then comment it out, and let modders un-comment it as they decide.
